Geneva Call welcomes Alain Délétroz, its new Director General
15 novembre 2017
Change of leadership at Geneva Call: after 18 years as Executive President, co-founder Elisabeth Decrey Warner will move on at the end of December 2017. Elisabeth began with a very small, dedicated staff team in 2000, and together they built up Geneva Call into the well-established and respected organization it has become today. The staff and Board of Trustees are very grateful for her dedication and long service to the organization. Elisabeth will, nevertheless, remain involved with Geneva Call, as she will join its Board in January 2018.
After a thorough and professional recruitment process undertaken with the assistance of an outside consulting firm, Alain Délétroz has been selected and appointed by the Board as the new Director General. He brings with him more than twenty years of experience in conflict-affected areas and has served in several organizations: Executive-in-Residence at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy, Vice-President of the International Crisis Group in Brussels, Director of the Open Society Institute in Tashkent, Delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Moscow, and Adult Literacy and Capacity Building Project Manager at Interteam in Peru.
Elisabeth and Alain will work together until the end of the year to ensure a smooth handover. The staff and Board wish them both happiness and success in their new positions.
